Encore Une Fois

This program repeats a passage of a song as many times as you like. I use it to learn the words of French songs, one line at a time, by listening to the same few seconds until I can hear every word. The name means “once more.”

The song is played inside your browser and never leaves your computer.

The program

1. Choose a song:
No file chosen.

2. Press play, then use the keys described below.

The keys

S

The first press marks the start of the passage (A). The second press marks the end (B), jumps back to A and loops. Pressing S during a loop begins a new start point.

C

Stops looping. The song carries on from where it is.

Space

Play or pause.

← (left arrow)

Jumps back about five seconds, for example if you marked a point too late.

Click anywhere on the page once so that it receives your key presses. The loop is seamless, with no gap or click where it repeats. Most audio formats work, but MP3 is the safest choice.
